Paying for Home Care
As you consider your healthcare options, many people first consider their finances. Depending on your needs, home care is often the lowest cost option when compared to assisted living, adult day care, or nursing home care. While paying for home care can seem intimidating and complicated, it doesn’t have to be. We can help design a plan that meets your financial and health care needs.
Long Term Care Insurance The first step in planning for home care is to determine if you have a long-term care insurance plan. Many policies will pay for home care which is generally your best option. If you have a policy, check to see if it covers long term, in-home care. If you aren’t sure, our staff will be happy to help you understand your policy.
Veterans Affairs Aid & Attendance Program If you served in the military, the Veteran Affairs Aid and Attendance Pension program offers families and individuals an additional method of meeting or reducing vital home care costs. This pension may provide a monthly stipend to a veteran, a surviving spouse, or to a couple depending on your income level. If you are not sure about your eligibility, contact our staff at 410-486-5330 or visit our Veterans Home Care Benefit page. We can help you understand and apply for the VA benefits.
Private Funds Many clients decide to pay for home care with personal funds. If you would prefer to pay for your home care privately, call us at 410-486-5330 or send us an email at [email protected] for a confidential consultation. Also, if you established a Health Care Trust Fund, we can work with you and your advisors. We can design a program to meet your home care and financial needs.
Medicaid and Medicaid Waiver Programs. HomeCentris is Maryland’s largest Medicaid waiver home care provider. Our specialty is helping clients who qualify for Medicaid assistance. These programs provide financial assistance to Medicaid recipients who have a chronic illness, medical condition or disability. Qualified applicants must meet both the Medicaid Programs financial and medical requirements. Your local health department will determine your eligibility. Once you are determined eligible, simply elect Personal Home Care as your home care agency. We will work with your case manager to develop a specific care plan for your needs. To see if you qualify, call us at 410-486-5330 so we can review the process with you.
