BALTIMORE – March 23, 2015 – HomeCentris Healthcare, LLC today announced that Dr. Ben Carson, Sr. has joined its Advisory Board. The company is excited to work with Dr. Carson to design and provide healthcare solutions for seniors based on a home-centric theme.
The addition of Dr. Carson is an exciting development for HomeCentris. He brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to our organization, said Matthew Auman, HomeCentris CEO. We appreciate his interest in joining our team and look forward to benefiting from his experiences, ideas, and counsel as we move forward.
Dr. Carson directed pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Childrens Center where he practiced for nearly 40 years. Having retired in June 2013, he is now an emeritus professor of neurosurgery, oncology, plastic surgery, and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He became the inaugural recipient of a professorship dedicated in his name in May, 2008. Dr. Carson holds more than 60 honorary doctorate degrees and he sits on the board of directors of numerous organizations, including Kellogg Company, Costco Wholesale Corporation, the Academy of Achievement, and is an Emeritus Fellow of the Yale Corporation, the governing body of Yale University. He was appointed in 2004 by President George W. Bush to serve on the Presidents Council on Bioethics. In June, 2008, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the land.
